Thomas Brodie-Sangster (Jojen Reed) supports this far-out fan theory about Bran Stark

Thomas Brodie-Sangster portrayed the physically meek but mentally powerful Jojen Reed during the third and fourth seasons of Game of Thrones. Although Jojen was killed by wights shortly before attaining his goal of uniting Bran Stark with the Three-Eyed Raven, Brodie-Sangster has been doing splendidly, starring in the Maze Runner series, appearing in Netflix’s Godness, and even nabbing a cameo in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

But as prolific as Brodie-Sangster’s career has been (he also had a big role in Love Actually — guy’s everywhere), he may still be most recognized for his time as Jojen. So it’s unsurprising that when The Huffington Post talked to Brodie-Sangster about Maze Runner: The Death Cure, it also asked if he might return for Game of Thrones season 8:

"I quite like the idea of that as well, like kind of come back like an Obi-Wan spirit, kind of cool. No, I haven’t heard anything from HBO."

With filming still ongoing, anything’s possible, if not bloody likely.

Another theory came up: is it possible, The Huffington Post asked, that Bran Stark and the Three-Eyed Raven are the same person? As in, could the man Bran trained with in season 6, played by Max von Sydow, actually be Bran from the future? After all, following Hodor’s death, we know that time travel shenanigans are possible in this world.

"Yeah, I kind of went with that one. I like the theory of multiverses and different parallel universes working together in time. I just quite like that theory. I went with that and like the idea of that."

Of course, time travel is a tricky narrative technique. Just ask Emilia Clarke. “You got to be careful you don’t lose people,” Brodie-Sangster said, “what people love about a certain show. “But, like I said, I like all that.”

As far as keeping in touch with his Game of Thrones castmates is concerned, Brodie-Sangster doesn’t have to try very hard, as seemingly every project he’s involved with includes alumni from the HBO drama — for example, The Maze Runner movies costar Aidan Gillen (Littlefinger). “It’s been great for British actors actually. You’re bound to kind of pop around and see people in other projects.”

Unfortunately, there is no Game of Thrones cast member group text going, at least so far as Brodie-Sangster knows. He is part of the Harry Potter group text, though — yes, he was in those movies, too.
