Season 8 filming: Fans spot Kit Harington (Jon Snow) in [SPOILER]

It’s a new week, and we’ve got some new reports from the set of Game of Thrones season 8 to spread around. Kindly go no further if you don’t want to be exposed to potential SPOILERS.

Today’s news comes from Dubrovnik, Croatia, where the show has been filming scenes set in King’s Landing since season 2. Just lately, the production has been constructing sets and arranging props in the city’s Pile Bay, which stands in the shadow of Lovrijenac Fortress, aka the Red Keep. Clearly, filming will begin soon, if it hasn’t started already:

But what scenes will the production film here? That’s less clear, although The Dubrovnik Times reported in January that the shoot will involve “many of the main stars” of the show, possibly even Kit Harington (Jon Snow). Now, fan reports are coming in that Harington is indeed in the area:

(UPDATE: So it looks like this person has now deleted their Twitter account. Take that how you will.)

If true, this would be big news, as it means Jon Snow would return to King’s Landing at some point in season 8. It would also mark the first time Harington has ever filmed in Dubrovnik. He’s been hopping around the globe lately, traveling form Iceland to Belfast and now to Dubrovnik. Jon Snow will have a busy year.

This fan hasn’t seen any of the other actors, but that doesn’t mean they’re not there or on their way. For example, Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen), who was with Harington in Iceland, has spent the last few days in Rome, filming something for Dolce&Gabbana:

However, recent posts indicate she’s leaving the city (“it pains me to say arrivederci”), on her way to who-knows-where.

We’ll be keeping an eye on Dubrovnik to see if Clarke turns up.

Also, here’s a short video of Maisie Williams holding a dog with her family. It doesn’t have anything to do with season 8 spoilers — it’s just cute.

So assuming these reports are genuine, what’s Jon Snow doing back in King’s Landing. Are Jon and Cersei endgame? Might this be a return to the city after the White Walkers are defeated? Feel free to discuss!
