Medieval World And Roman World Don’t Exist In Westworld’s Canon
We know that Delos owns 6 parks on Westworld, but don’t expect to see Medieval And Roman World any time soon.
The new Westworld Season 2 trailer has dropped, and it has been thoroughly dissected by fans. In true Westworld fashion, the trailer contained a hidden code that led fans to a new site named Delos Destinations. The site is filled with fun information, but chief among them, was the fact that there are 6 Delos parks.
The site only list Westworld by name, but it also hints that the second park is Samurai World. That leaves 4 parks unaccounted for. In the wake of this revelation, fans and media outlets have been dying to know what the names of the unknown parks. Many outlets have looked towards the original 1973 film, which featured Roman World and Medieval World. These worlds would be likely options; however, thanks to Jonathan Nolan, we know they won’t appear on the show.

Westworld Co-Creator Jonathan Nolan Confirmed That Medieval World And Roman World Won’t Appear On The Show
Countless media outlets have been running with the story that
Westworld
co-creators Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan have hinted at Roman and Medieval Worlds in the past. While this is technically true, it’s also only half of the story. During the
, Nolan and Joy were asked if Medieval World and Roman World would appear on
Westworld
. In a coy reply, Nolan said the following:
"“We had to save something for Season 2.”"
Many outlets immediately assumed that Nolan was hinting that the parks would appear soon. However, this is not the case. A few days later during a Westworld panel at NYCC, Nolan bluntly answered the same question again:
"“I’ve been coming to New York Comic Con for seven years and I’ve never said a single thing of substance. They keep inviting me back, but I’ve never answered a single question, not really. You said Roman World and Medieval World, right? No.”"
For some reason, the fact that Nolan shot down the idea of Medieval and Roman Worlds appearing on Westworld has been ignored. It’s not like he danced around the question. Nolan clearly stated that those two worlds do not exist in the show’s canon. This makes sense, since they are building a new lore apart from the original film. At this time, we are still in the dark regarding the names of the other 4 Delos parks.
We still have a few months until Westworld Season 2 drops. Until then, we will continue to speculate on anything and everything Westworld.
Westworld Season 2 will premiere on HBO Sunday, April 22, 2018 9PM/EST
