Ever want to visit the incredible world of Westworld in real life? Well, HBO is bringing a custom-built reproduction of the park to SXSW 2018!
Have you ever been watching HBO’s Westworld and thought to yourself, “I wish I could visit a park like that in real life.” Well, for attendees of South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas, that dream is about to become a reality. That’s right folks! HBO is building a replica of the park that is opening to anyone attending SXSW.
The event is completely immersive and will feature the sights and sounds fans have come to love from the show. This event is in addition to Westworld’s official panel, which we will give you the skinny on as well. So, without any further ado, let’s take a look at everything HBO is bringing to SXSW – including all the details you need to know about the amazing event.

Fans Will Be Able To Visit Their Favorite Westworld Locations At SXSW 2018!
According to a recent press release from HBO, the custom-built reproduction of Westworld will be open the entire SXSW weekend. The event will run for 3 days, starting on Friday, March 9, and ending on Sunday, March 11. HBO has done pop-up events like this before at other conventions, but nothing to this scale. Fans will be able to visit the town of Sweetwater, including notable landmarks like The Coronado Hotel and the Mariposa Saloon.
HBO’s new activation experience will spread out over 2 acres and feature a variety of narratives. Guests will be able to interact with a variety of hosts and explore the park and the town of Sweetwater as they please. HBO has promised that this event will be unlike any other and will allow guest to dive deeper into the universe of Westworld.
How To Register For The Event And What To Expect
Fans will have to register at DiscoverWestworld.com to make a reservation, but it is first come first serve. Those who manage to get a reservation will check in at the EastSide Tavern in Austin, Texas. You must have a SXSW badge to register, but only half of the reservations will be booked in advanced. Prospective guests must also be 21 and have a valid form of identification.
From there, a Delos Shuttle will transport them to the park. Once they reach the installation, guests will choose a black or white hat and are free to explore the park. During their time in the park, guests are encouraged to hunt for clues. These clues will give them an idea of what’s to come in Westworld Season 2. Some clues will be hidden within the park, but others will be found by asking particular hosts specific questions. The official times and dates of the Westworld event at SXSW are as follows:

Friday, March 9, 2:00-10:00 p.m.
Saturday, March 10, 2:00-10:00 p.m.
Sunday, March 11, 2:00-10:00 p.m.
HBO And Delta’s Exclusive Westworld Experience
While HBO’s pop-up event sounds amazing, a select group of people attending SXSW will be able to start their Westworld vacation a bit earlier. Delta Air Lines and HBO are joining forces to bring an exclusive Westworld experience to some lucky fans. These select flights will leave from LAX and they will be a completely immersive experience.
Guests will arrive, and from there, they will interact with Westworld hosts, but their vacation will also continue on their flight. Delta is offering Westworld-themed cocktails and will receive a personal invitation to “Live Without Limits” At SXSW in Austin. These flights are limited and only for those traveling from Los Angeles for Austin on Friday, March 9.
Details On The Westworld Season 2 Panel At SXSW 2018
In addition to the once in a lifetime Westworld experience, SXSW attendees will also get the chance to hear from the show’s co-creators and cast. The Westworld Season 2 Feature Session will take place on Saturday, March 10, 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the Austin Convention Center in Room D.
Westworld co-creator’s Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy will appear, but they won’t be coming alone. Westworld stars Evan Rachel Wood, Thandie Newton, Jeffrey Wright and James Marsden will also be attending.
