What’s up with Dolores’ new look in Westworld Season 2?

EW released a ton of new images for Westworld Season 2, but what’s the deal with Dolores’ fancy new duds?

Christmas came early this year folks! That’s right, Entertainment Weekly recently dropped a ton of new images for Westworld Season 2. The article and photos provided some answers; however, we have a few questions. For one, what’s up with that picture of Dolores where she’s sporting a fancy new look?

Evan Rachel Wood wonderful as always, but what happened to her powder blue prairie dress? Is this picture the from the past, present or future? Sure, it’s only one picture of a single character, but nothing that happens on Westworld in inconsequential. So, without further ado, let’s take a look at what we know about Dolores’ new dress.

Dolore Gets A New Look In EW’s Exclusive Sneak Peak Of Westworld Season 2

We can see in the picture above that Dolores is sporting a fancy new dress. It’s more modern than her usual Westworld fare, but why is she wearing it? Sadly, EW’s caption of the picture doesn’t give us any clues. EW’s blurb accompanying the picture reads as follows:

"“This is a revealing brand-new look for Dolores. Speculate away!”"

Speculate we shall! Based on her surroundings, she appears to be near a manor house of some kind. This means she is probably still in the park. Where in the park? We’re not sure. We also don’t know what time period this photo is from. We know that William and Logan will be a part of Westworld Season 2, so it’s not outside the realm of possibilities. Sure, this could be a flashback, but that seems unlikely.

We know that she wore a similar dress before. She sported a darker colored version of the dress in the amazing trailer released during the Super Bowl. In the trailer, she was walking in an unknown area with Bernard. HBO cut the trailer in a strange way, but it’s possible that Maeve could be there as well.

Our best guess is that Dolores dons the new dress towards the end of the first, or beginning of the second episode of Season 2. The dress is very clean and doesn’t look battle worn at all. Based on what we’ve seen from Season 2, the dress appears to be worn after a substantial win over the humans – or when the hosts regroup.

The truth is, the dress probably won’t be a huge plot thread in the new season. We still have a few months until Westworld Season 2 drops. Until then, we will continue to speculate on anything and everything Westworld.
