Westworld theories wanted: Showrunners to interact with Redditors
Westworld theories were what kept us on the edge of our seats during season 1. And now Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan may interact with your idea on Reddit.
Westworld theories were flying out of the internet faster than the bullets from the Man in Black’s gun. On the subreddit, r/westworld, fans did deep dives into each episode to conjure up the next major theory. That subreddit became so famous that even showrunner Jonathan Nolan said he would join and spark a little chaos. However, he was so impressed with the huge support and fandom of the show, that he gave a those Redditors a chance to feel like they are a part of Westworld Season 2.
Nolan and fellow showrunner Lisa Joy sat with actors James Marsden, Evan Rachel Wood, Jeffrey Wright, and Thandie Newtown at the Westworld SXSW 2018 panel. The showrunners discussed their admiration for the fans and the uber fans on Reddit. Eventually, Nolan even said he would sometimes participate in the forums. Therefore, they said they have a “somewhat controversial plan we’re working on” that will allow them to address the fans on Reddit.

including the fans as transcribe by a recent article from Polygon:
"Part of it stems from other shows. True Detective had a lot of fan theories that proved to be theories. There are lot of theories about Westworld’s first season that proved to be plot twists. I think for every fan theory, we actually had an episode that dealt with it.We’re figuring out how to sort of interact with that in the second season. A somewhat controversial plan that we’re working on; we’ll have an announcement about it in a couple weeks. It’s incredibly gratifying to see people put that much work — not just into deciphering the season, but the fan art and music. The creativity you see coming back at you when you’re making one of these things is extraordinary."
It’s great to that the showrunners have tapped into what the fans enjoy. Since this is a show
about technology and how people use technology. It makes sense for them to interact with their fans on the internet. We can’t wait to see what how they involve the fans for the upcoming season.
