Check out this definitive Westworld timeline ahead of the season 2 finale Sunday night

Westworld is primarily known for two things: murderous robots and confusing, intertwining timelines that can throw even diehard fans for a loop. In season 1, we saw two timelines play out simultaneously: in one, the Man in Black (Ed Harris) stalked Westworld trying to unravel the secrets of “the Maze,” while in another, young William (Jimmi Simpson) fell in love with the host Dolores Abernathy. It wasn’t until the end of the season that we learned the characters were the same person. That’s the kind of thing we’re talking about.

Season 2 has continued this storytelling trick, although this time it’s not trying to hide it. The character of Bernard (Jeffrey Wright), a host, has a glitch, and has been flashing back and forth between different timelines, stretching all the way back to before the park opened.

Those timelines will likely resolve themselves in the season finale, “The Passenger.” Until then, Insider has put together a clear, straight-forward rundown has put together a clear, straight-forward rundown of when all the important events in this story happened. Consult it before the big finish:

So the last thing that officially happens in this timeline is Charlotte Hale (Tessa Thompson) finding out Bernard is a host and interrogating him about the location of Peter Abernathy’s control unit, approximately 11 days after Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) killed Dr. Ford (Anthony Hopkins) and began the host uprising.

Westworld season 2 may have shown us events from 37 years in the past, but the whole season has played out in the span of a week-and-a-half. We’re eager to see how this wraps up this Sunday at 8:00 p.m. CST on HBO.
