France: Cersei
Barring the picture above, can you actually remember an instance where you saw Cersei without a goblet of wine waiting at the ready? The woman is accustomed to a certain lifestyle, and always having a drink in hand is part of the package.
It’s easy to picture the rich and powerful Cersei Lannister hanging out in France. For one thing, wine is abundant there, with 7-8 billion bottles produced every year. I don’t think she’d ever go thirsty.
France caters to the rest of her lavish lifestyle, as well. It’s a scenic country, with the southern countryside in particular often praised for its natural beauty. King’s Landing may be a dirty cesspit, but the Lannisters can afford to vacation where they please, and I’m sure Casterly Rock is maintained more to French standards.
I also think France’s general attitude would resonante with Cersei. Whether deserved or not, the French have a bit of a reputation for being cold to outsiders, and perhaps even outright rude in some instances. Obviously, Cersei isn’t the most welcoming and warm presence. She thinks very highly of her own opinions and doesn’t care to entertain those of others; she’d fit right in.
France is also a very feminist country. While Cersei may not be the feminist icon we want, you have to concede that she’s a woman who’s persevered in a culture that would prefer her to play the part of the meek housewife.
