Game of Thrones fans are many and passionate. There’s the guy who 3D-printed a life-size Tyrion. Or those fans who recreated the great landmarks of Westeros in Minecraft. Now, New Zealand teacher Liam Jansen has posted an amazing video of himself walking a roomful of teachers through a modified version of the Night’s Watch vow he wrote himself. Take it away, Liam:
"I am the lesson planner in the darknessI am the marker of the workbooksI am the shield that guards the realms of creativity and engagementI pledge my life and honor to the teaching profession, for this term and all the terms to come"
First, a tip of the hat to teachers around the globe. Much like the Night’s Watch, it’s an under-appreciated profession. Second, bravo to Mr. Jansen for his creativity. “I shall live and die at my desk.” Hilarious. And the black cloak is a nice touch. Such a cloak isn’t hard to come by, either; the show just used an IKEA rug. Really.
Jansen’s fellow teachers seem into it, too. Hopefully things end a little better for them than they did for Grenn and the rest during the Battle of Castle Black:
For this term, and all the terms to come!
