1. Anna Diop, aka Starfire

ahead of the series premiere, the cast members — Brenton Thwaites (Dick Grayson/Robin), Teagan Croft (Rachel Roth/Raven), Ryan Potter (Garfield Logan/Beast Boy) and Anna Diop (Kory Anders/Starfire) — were severely underestimated and criticized to the point where Anna Diop had to turn off the comments on her Instagram. With the possible exception of Brenton Thwaites, who had a role in 2017’s Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, pretty much all of these actors were new faces.

But they’ve proven themselves, with Anna Diop’s Starfire standing out. This isn’t the cute Starfire we’re used to from earlier series, the one who doesn’t know Earth’s customs. Titans’ Starfire is a complete badass who stands firmly by her own principles, despite the memory loss that plagues her since the pilot. She has an air of intrigue and strength, but not in a “walls up” way. Memory loss or not, she’s open about her feelings.

Diop was the perfect choice for this version of Starfire, and after the finale, everyone’s waiting to see her on screen in the comic-accurate version of her suit.
