2. The dark writing has just the right amount of humor

One of the major concerns about the show ahead of the premiere was that it would be too grim. Intended for mature audiences, Titans gets really dark and gory at times, both visually and thematically, but the little humor there is rarely falls flat. It’s well-timed and well-delivered by the actors.

Garfield Logan is the “funny character” of the show. While he has a tragic past, he’s the cheeriest of the group, and a superhero nerd who’s always amazed when he meets people he’s heard of, like Robin and Wonder Girl. His fanboy moments are extremely relatable, and provide a reprieve in the middle of heavy scenes.
