1. Jon Snow vs The Night King

Since the very first scene, Game of Thrones has always been building to a clash with the White Walkers. Even As we were distracted with the likes of Tywin Lannister and Ramsey Bolton, they were always in the background, building their army and preparing to eradicate humanity.

Jon Snow, on the other hand, started the series as one of many characters all vying for attention. It wasn’t until fairly recently, when he became King in the North and discovered that he is by birth the rightful heir to the Iron Throne, that he started to move front and center in the narrative. Now he’s a fan favorite and an experienced and talented swordsman.

In fact, Jon has already killed two White Walkers. But The Night King is a completely different foe. We haven’t seen much of him in battle, but after dropping a dragon with an ice javelin, you gotta assume he’s about as bad as they come.

It’s possible that the Night King is just far too powerful for Jon to fight in a straight-up duel alone, but we’ve been seeing Jon grow as a swordsman through the seasons, and if anyone is prepared to take on the lord of the dead, it’s him. Plus they had that intense staring contest at the end of “Hardhome,” and you know that’s got to pay off somehow.

Normally, we’d assume these two would throw down in the final episode, but it’s hard to be sure on a show like this where the bench of characters is still so deep. But you can rest assured that these two will come face to face, and when they do, prepare yourself for some high stakes action.
