#ReleaseTheSnyderCut gets a Times Square billboard

New York Comic-Con went down this past weekend, where fandoms of all kinds descended upon the Jacob Javits Convention Center to celebrate their nerdy passions.

Among the fans in attendance were several lobbying for the release of the Snyder Cut, a fabled edit of the movie Justice League approved by director Zack Snyder himself, and edit that is much-buzzed about but never seen by the masses — we’re not even really sure if it exists, although people like Jason Momoa have claimed to see it, and have dubbed it “ssssiiicccckkkkk.”

Anyway, I personally say plenty of these kinds of fans on the show floor. They’re hardcore. They’ve got banners, fliers, the works.

Over the weekend, those fans took over a Times Square billboard!

This was displayed every two minutes from noon to midnight on Saturday right next to the New Victory Theatre, which is located on 42nd St. between 7th and 8th Ave. in Times Square. I don’t even want to think about how much it cost. Worth it, though.

Although to be fair, maybe getting a Times Square billboard is easier than it looks. Fans of The OA and Shadowhunters have previously swung it in efforts to save their favorite shows.

So will this work? Will Snyder and Warner Bros. release Snyder Cut on home video, or into theaters, or on Netflix, or whatever? I have no idea, but it’s nice to see fandoms come together like this either way, isn’t it?
