Do we have a premiere date for The Last Kingdom season 4?

Filming on the fourth season of Netlfix’s superb medieval drama The Last Kingdom has officially wrapped, so let the celebrations begin!

As usual, the cast was more than willing to share their behind-the-scenes fun on social media, but did say more than they should have about the season 4 premiere date? When do we get to see the further adventures of Uhtred of Bebbanburg? Adrian Bouchet, who plays the fearsome warrior Steapa, may have let something slip.

According to Bouchet, we’ll see the results of the cast’s hard work “sometime next summer, I believe.” That’s later than I was hoping. For it’s part, Netflix had originally said we’d see season 4 “early” in 2020, which hardly sounds like summer to us. Either way, the cast teased the upcoming season below!

Bouchet could be mistaken, of course. Whatever happens though, at least we have 10 new episodes coming in 2020. Now on to the revelry!

First up, Sihtric has a new look:

Fellow instigator Mark Rowley (Finan) sounds like he’s coming back for season 5. “See you next year.” You never know when a character might die on this show.

Below, Rowley embraces the boss man himself: Lord Uhtred, son of Uhtred (Alexandre Dreymon).

Lord Uhtred says let there be cake!

Hopefully people helped themselves now that they don’t have to squeeze into armor and corsets for a while.

Stefanie Martini (Eadith) was not only celebrating the season wrapping, but also her birthday. Best wishes!

Meanwhile, Emily Cox (Brida) shares photos from the wrap party’s photo booth.

Ruby Hartley, who plays Uhtred’s now grown daughter Stiorra, is also in on it:

Back on set (we hope), Arnas Fedaravicius is putting on a brave face as he says goodbye:

Not to be outdone, Magnus Bruun (Cnut) also gave his thanks to the cast and crew, this time with a prop:

Eliza Butterworth (Aelswith) might not have been a queen on the show, but she’s a queen on set, here sharing a blast of pictures with fellow cast members, including one of the ever elusive Dreymon.

Butterworth and James Northcote (Aldhelm) have been the most prolific photo-sharers. Here we get another shot of Uhtred among the cast. The man is a unicorn.

And that’s a wrap! Hopefully we’ll info about a premiere date soon.
