Stranger Things star Noah Schnapp: Season 4 scripts are “amazing”

Stranger Things star Noah Schnapp, who plays Will Byers on the Netflix drama, recently weighed in on how season 4 is shaping up. It sounds like we have a lot to look forward to.

On February 14, Valentines Day, Netflix showed the enormous Stranger Things fanbase some love and gave us a short teaser trailer for the fourth season, which confirmed the return of fan-favorite character Sheriff Hopper, although you probably didn’t need a teaser to figure that out:

As for Schnapp, he’s gotten more screentime as the show has gone on. In season 1, Will was central to the story, but mostly spent his time skulking around the Upside Down while his friends and family tried to find him. However, we saw a lot more of him in the second and third seasons. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Schnapp talked about what that was like:

"When they were casting me, they told me that even though I’m not around a lot for season one, I’d be a major part of a second season — if they got to do it. So, I felt good knowing that I had something to look forward to that was really big. But, definitely throughout season one, it sucked because I never got to go to any of the press or anything. I also wasn’t really close with the cast during season one just because I was never there."

Now that the season 4 scripts have been given out to cast members, we’re hearing more about the story. “Of course. I look forward to this so much,” Schnapp said. “It’s my favorite thing in the world, and I love working with these people. It’s like a family. So, I’m definitely very excited.”

"I read the first four scripts, and they are amazing. I can’t wait to see where they go with the rest of the season."

It wasn’t only Schnapp who offered their opinion. Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler) also teased good stuff ahead when he talked to THR about a month back. “I’m really excited for it,” he said. “It’s a really crazy season.”

While we’ve got no confirmed release date for Stranger Things season 4, it’s unlikely (but not impossible) that it could air this year. I’d expect it out in 2021, given the patterns of past seasons.

We also know that episode 1 will be titled “The Hellfire Club” thanks to the official Stranger Things writers’ Twitter account:

You can see Schnapp in theaters now as Jo in Waiting for Anya, adapted from the novel by Micahel Morpurgo. That should hold us over until we can return to Hawkins again, right?
