The Stranger Things cast is one of our favorite on television, on and off camera. From David Harbour’s grumpy enthusiasm to the friendship between the younger actors, what’s not to like?

Case in point: the show has released a behind-the-scenes video of the first season 4 table read, and we can’t stop watching. Check out the spoiler-free, minute long video below, appropriately made to look like it was shot on a low-definition camera from the 1980s:

Okay, so Harbour doesn’t look that grumpy when hugging Finn Wolfhard (Mike). In fact, he’s kind of adorable.

Everyone is there, from Winona Rider (Joyce) to Maya Hawke (Robin) to Brett Gelman (Murray). Gelman (who, by the way, was recently upped to series regular status, per Deadline) closes out the video, but our favorite part was probably seeing Steve (Joe Keery) and Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) reunited.

Sadly, the blurriness of the video prevents us from reading any of those script pages, but we can’t have everything.

As to when we might see the fruits of all this labor, we’re not sure. Filming on season 4 began in January, so a premiere late in 2020 is not out of the question, although filming is reported to run all the way through August, presumably with a break somewhere in there.

Season four is also rumored to consist of nine episodes, like season 2 before it (seasons 1 and 3 had eight episodes apiece). We also note that the show is not at all being coy about the fact that Sheriff Hopper (David Harbour) is back, but that ship sailed when Netflix released that promo showing Hopper alive and doing hard labor somewhere in Russia.

Next. Harrison Ford fondly recalls the “utter disdain” the Star Wars crew had for the movie. dark
