7. Shameik Moore as Aqualad

Two young Atlanteans go by the name Aqualad in the DC Universe. Garth, the first Aqualad, was created in 1960 by Robert Bernstein and Ramona Fradon. Fans might be more familiar with this version of the character since he’s appeared in many comics and in animated form, while also appearing in the second season of the DC Universe series Titans. He was also a founding member of the original Teen Titans team.

But since we’re changing Robin, we can also change things up with Aqualad.

The other version of Aqualad, Kaldur’ahm, also known as Kaldur, was created for the Cartoon Network show Young Justice back in 2010. Kaldur’s popularity has skyrocketed since his initial debut, and fans of the TV show would be thrilled if DC included this version of the character in a live-action film.

Kaldur is a calm and collected person who always thinks before he acts. He has trained under the King of Atlantis himself, Aquaman, and can manipulate water for combat purposes, such as solidifying water into swords and other weapons, using water blasts and creating a shield for himself. Along with all that, he can breathe underwater, swim faster than an average human, and has super strength.

If we end up with this version, then Shameik Moore would be a great pick to play him. From his portrayal of Miles Morales in Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse to his role as Shaolin Fantastic in Netflix’s The Get Down to his leading man role in Dope, he’s shown fantastic range.

Moore would bring some complexity to the role of Kaldur, and definitely be a highlight of a Titans movie.
