“And we’ll have a couple of surprises for him.”

After Mando and Mayfeld escape the refinery, two TIE fighters start chasing the Slave I. Then, in possibly the most satisfying scene in the episode, Boba Fett releases a seismic charge from the ship, destroying both TIE fighters.

The first time we saw the seismic charges used was in Attack of the Clones when Obi-Wan was chasing Jango and Boba in an asteroid field. That scene remains one of the coolest scenes in Star Wars history, with the special effects and sound design adding to the impact. The same sound effect used in Episode II can be heard in this chapter when Boba drops them on the fighters. It’s music to my ears.

We’re also counting this as another reference to Jango Fett; Boba must have learned this technique from his father during that scene in Episode II. While Boba was barely in this episode, it was rewarding to see him have this moment in the end.
