Make the Covenant intimidating

One of the more interesting aspects of the Halo games is the Covenant, a group of alien races hellbent on destroying humanity. As more Halo games were released, the more we learned about the Covenant and its goals, to the point where we even began to sympathize with one of the alien races. Hopefully, the show will develop that storyline even further, but the Covenant should be intimidating and powerful upon introduction.

In the games, the human marines are overpowered by some of the aliens, such as the Sangheili, the Mgalekgolo, and the Jiralhanae. These aliens are twice the size of an average person much stronger. The Covenant also has an arsenal of advanced alien weaponry at its disposal. One of the more terrifying weapons is the Sangheili’s energy sword. I can imagine a scene where a Sangheili chasing down a helpless marine with a sword only to run him through, letting the audience know the Covenant isn’t messing around. Or a scene where Covenant forces wipe out whole platoons, showing off their devastating power.

If done right, these sorts of scenes would thrill longtime fans as well as give newcomers a horrifying new enemy to have nightmares about.
