Set photos from Spider-Man 3 reveal holiday setting

Spider-Man: Far From Home ended on a giant cliffhanger. It looks like the third movie will jump forward in time…or jump dimensions, it’s hard to be sure.
Spider-Man 3 has been the talk of the town as all kinds of rumors and speculation make the rounds through the fandom and beyond. Many of us are dying to know whether or not there will be more than one Spider-Man in the movie, and if there is any truth to the reports about the return of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. And that’s on top of Jamie Foxx returning as Electro and Alfred Molina as Doctor Octopus.
How does all this happen? Near as we can figure it, it has something to do with Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange, who will also be a big part of the movie. The last Spider-Man movie, Far From Home, already set up the concept of alternate universes with its villain Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal), and alternate universe are something that Doctor Strange is very familiar with. It sounds like Peter Parker is going to go dimension-hopping.
Let’s see if we can spot any clues in some recently released photos taken on the set in Atlanta, which hint that at least some of the movie will take place during the holidays.
Holiday decorations have been pasted all over the windows of a pastry shop (specifically the Peter Pan Donut & Pastry shop, which is an actual shop in Brooklyn). Hopefully this means that Peter Parker has something to feel holly and jolly about, although given where we left him in Far From Home, with Mysterio revealing his identity to the world, we doubt it. That movie, by the way, ended on a sunny day in New York City, so the third entry must skip forward some in time.
Alternately, these photos could depict a different reality/time/universe. Perhaps we’ll see Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker do his “cool dance” as he walks out of the donut shop.
At this point, anything can happen.
In other Spider-news, it looks like Tom Holland will play Spider-Man once again in a ride at the yet-to-open Avengers Campus in Disneyland in California. Take a look:
Spider-Man 3 comes out on December 17 of this year. The Avengers Campus, meanwhile, should open sometime this year, after initially getting delayed thanks to COVID.
