The Harry Potter magic continues to live on nearly two decades after the first movie thanks to Warner Bros. Every Wednesday since April 7, the studio has been releasing behind-the-scenes videos that were initially featured on the Harry Potter DVDs.

In the first month, they released a four-part “Creating the World of Harry Potter” documentary diving into the magic, the characters, the creatures, and the magical effects.  But this week, they took a break from that to share a behind-the-scenes featurette called “Close-up with the Cast of Harry Potter” which was originally featured in the special edition DVD of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

This movie was the sixth of the franchise and focused primarily on Harry and his friends preparing for the inevitable battle against Voldemort. And of course there were plenty of love stories coming to fruition as the students of Hogwarts found themselves on the cusp of puberty.

The video features Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley), Emma Watson (Hermione Granger), Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom) and Alfred Enoch (Dean Thomas), along with some of the crew that helped bring the movie to life.

The special behind-the-scenes look gives fans a glimpse of how the magic happened, particularly how stunts were performed and how editors painstakingly worked through each scene to give it the perfect touch and feel. Making the magic wasn’t easy.

Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint explore the world of Harry Potter

The first segment takes us back to a conversation between Daniel Radcliffe and editor Mark Day, who also edits the Fantastic Beasts franchise. Day walks Radcliffe through his process, explaining the subtle nuances he must pay attention to in order for the scene to make sense.

And as the editor, Day has access to all the bloopers. He shares one clip of Watson hitting Radcliffe over the head with some parchment a bit harder than she meant to.

The next segment involves Grint doing a series of stunts as the Keeper for Gryffindor’s Quidditch team. It requires him to be tied up in bungee cords to do all kinds of flips and turns, all while trying to catch a Quaffle.

The final segment features Watson talking to makeup designer Amanda Knight, who ended up working on every single Harry Potter movie. Watson got a Dark Mark tattoo for the heck of it, courtesy of Knight. That’s something Hermione never got to do but it was fun to see Watson indulge.

There’s plenty more to enjoy. The original featurette also has interviews with the likes of Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy).

But if you’re hoping to see those you’ll need to snag yourself a DVD copy of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince!
