Sifting through the fallout from the Fear the Walking Dead season 6 finale
Scorched Earth is the New Villain on Fear the Walking Dead
Season 6 saw the demise of the villainous cult leader Teddy, embattled Virginia and deeply misguided Dakota. With three villains out of the way, the need for a new villain is clear.
For now, the clear and present threat is the landscape. The survivors must get as far away from the blast zones as possible if they hope to survive, and with their limited resources it will be a challenge.
The first three seasons of the show saw the survivors moving from Los Angeles to Mexico, and then to a community of preppers somewhere along the border. In season 4 the show moved to Texas, and the group has been moving around the area ever since.
The nuclear blast will have an effect on the landscape for years to come. The impact will depend on things the audience isn’t likely to ever know, such as the type of nuclear warheads that detonated and whether all four bombs had nukes on board.
Gizmodo does a great job explaining how Japanese cities Hiroshima and Nagasaki were able to move past the explosions based on the amount of nuclear material onboard, underlining that this event is survivable if the right conditions are present.
