7 characters that Game of Thrones kind of forgot
Meera Reed
Talk about a character who deserved better. Meera Reed was introduced in season 3 alongside her brother Jojen. The Reed siblings cross paths with Bran during his journey to the Wall. The more martial of the two, Meera accompanies Jojen because he can’t protect himself. As their journey progresses, the siblings form a strong bond with Bran, especially Meera. Before they reach the Three-Eyed Raven’s cave, Jojen is unfortunately killed by a wight.
As Bran continues his transformation into the Three-Eyed Raven, he loses himself, leaving Meera without a brother and a friend. After White Walkers overrun the cave, Meera takes Bran back across the Wall and to Winterfell. When they return, Meera is angry with him for his lack of gratitude and numbness toward their friends’ deaths. She leaves Winterfell and returns home.
Because of her father’s connection to Ned Stark, some fans hoped to see her alongside her father during the last season, possibly to play a part in revealing Jon’s true lineage and possibly help during the Long Night. Unfortunately, this was the last time we see Meera. Hopefully, she and Jojen will get a more satisfying conclusion in George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire books.
