4. Life Day rom-com

Here’s another idea that Lucasfilm can have on the house. Star Wars, for the most part, has been a franchise that sticks to its own, unique genre. It’s a little bit fantasy. There are sci-fi elements. Even a dash of the superhero genre. But if they really wanted to break out of their comfort zone, we could really use a good Star Wars rom-com. And what better setting for this kind of film than on Life Day?

Star Wars already has its share of romances. Anakin and Padme. Han Solo and Leia. And even some non-film couples like Kanan Jarrus and Hera Syndulla. We’ve seen this all before, now let’s just go ahead and make a whole romantic movie.

Just think, two star-crossed lovers… quite literally, as they probably come from different parts of the galaxy. One comes from the wild world of the Outer Rim, and the other is a member of high society. Well, maybe that’s breaching on the plot of Lost Stars — but that just means it’s a great idea.

With the festive nature of Life Day — singing, merrymaking, and a general sense of good tidings all around — you’ve got yourself a brand new Star Wars masterpiece. This one can be straight to Disney+ for all I care; we could use a bit of a genre switch-up in the fandom, whatever form it takes.
