It’s been years in the making, but The Wheel of Time is finally coming to our TV screens this week. The Amazon Prime Video Original is based on the book series of the same name by Robert Jordan, and stars Academy Award nominee Rosamund Pike as Moiraine.

The premiere will also introduce us to protagonist Rand al’Thor (Josha Stradowski), as well as central characters Nynaeve al’Meara (Zoë Robins), Egwene al’Vere (Madeleine Madden), Mat Cauthon (Barney Harris) and Perrin Aybara (Marcus Rutherford).

Fans of the source material have been cautiously optimistic about this adaptation considering how difficult it is to turn a 14-book series into a show, and it looks like early reviews are pretty okay so far. If you’re at the edge of your seat waiting to judge The Wheel of Time for yourself, you won’t have to wait long now.

And viewers will be happy to know that not only are we getting the first episode this Friday, but Amazon is actually releasing the first three all at once. That won’t be the case, however, each week. Those not wanting to miss a second of The Wheel of Time should mark their calendars with the weekly release schedule we’ve provided below.

When do The Wheel of Time episodes come out?

Here’s when each episode of The Wheel of Time will hit Amazon Prime Video:

  • Friday, Nov. 19: Episodes 1-3
  • Friday, Nov. 26: Episode 4
  • Friday, Dec. 3: Episode 5
  • Friday, Dec. 10: Episode 6
  • Friday, Dec. 17: Episode 7
  • Friday, Dec. 24: Episode 8

We wouldn’t call The Wheel of Time a Christmas show, but we’ll forever be associating the first season with the holidays now!

Typically with global releases on Amazon Prime Video, episodes come out at 12:00 a.m. GMT, which means viewers in the United States get to stream them a day early. This is the case with The Wheel of Time, so those on the East Coast can watch episodes at 7:00 p.m. on Thursdays, and West Coast viewers are lucky enough to watch at 4:00 p.m. EST on Thursdays.

There’s certainly a lot of pressure on Amazon right now to make this show good, and we’re hoping they’re up to it. The Wheel of Time premieres this Friday, Nov. 19. Let’s see what they’ve got!
