The Walking Dead season 11, part 2 — AMC — February 20

Hard as it is to believe, we are currently in the midst of the final season of The Walking Dead, the AMC zombie series that at one point looked like it would go on forever. We’ve already seen eight episodes and we’re about to get eight more, before there’s another break and we get eight final hours to finish out the series.

When last we left Daryl, Carol, Maggie, Negan and the rest, they had eliminated the fearsome Reapers and were just discovering the full breadth and depth of the Commonwealth, a post-apocalyptic civilization bigger and more sophisticated than any they’d come across before. This new chunk of episodes will probe deeper into this new viper’s next…but not too deep; gotta save something for the big finish.

New episodes of The Walking Dead premiere on February 20, although subscribers to AMC+ can see them a week early. And this isn’t the only Walking Dead show AMC has on tap for this year…

Fear the Walking Dead season 7, part 2 — AMC — April 17

Set some time before the original series, Fear the Walking Dead has carved out its own space in this post-apocalyptic franchise. And this series takes “post-apocalyptic” seriously: at the moment, the characters on this show aren’t just dealing with zombies, but also the fallout from a nuclear blast at the end of season 6. As if they didn’t have enough to worry about.

But the big news for this next chunk of episodes is the return of Kim Dickens as Madison Clark, who was the lead on the show before “dying” in season 4. But we didn’t see a body, so you knew she’d be back eventually.
