Harry Potter just celebrated its 20th anniversary, and the main cast members reflected on their time working on the movies during an HBO Max reunion special dubbed Return to Hogwarts. After seeing them together again, fans are wondering if they’d ever reprise their roles in a sequel or spinoff. And Rupert Grint seems game.

During an appearance on Good Morning Britain, the Harry Potter star considered whether he’d ever play Ron Weasley again. Specifically, he was asked if he’d join the cast of an onscreen adaptation of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which picks up with Harry, Ron and Hermione as adults.

“I can’t really think of a reason not to,” Grint said. “I love that character. I love that world. It’s a huge part of my life. I feel this kind of ownership of Ron in a weird way.”

Despite feeling possessive of the character, Grint noted he felt a “real thrill” seeing someone else play Ron in the Harry Potter playBut he’d still be willing to return to that role if given the opportunity…under one condition.

Rupert Grint has one condition for reprising his Harry Potter role

Grint said he would only play Ron again if Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) and Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) were also involved. It’s difficult to imagine a Cursed Child movie happening any other way. It wouldn’t make sense to have just one Harry Potter cast member return to play the adult version of their character. It would take all of them to make it work.

Whether a Cursed Child movie could actually happen remains a question. For now, those itching for more of the Golden Trio will have to check out the reunion special to see them together again.
