The Hobbit tattoos

The Hobbit takes place many thousands of years after the main events of The Silmarillion. This is the story that started at all, and it all begins with a hole in the ground where there lived a Hobbit:

"Got my first Tattoo, two days ago. More LotR Tattoos are already planed! from lotr"

In The Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins joins Thorin and a band of dwarves on a journey to the Lonely Mountain, where he faces down the fearsome dragon Smaug:

"All that’s left to add for my Hobbit inspired tatt is the Lonely Mountain! from lotr"

So far these Hobbit tattoos are pretty minimal. This one is a little more elaborate:

"i saw someone else posted their tolkien tattoo today!!! so here’s one of mine toooo c: from lotr"

The text are Thorin’s words to Bilbo. “There is more in you of good than you know, child of the kindly north.” In the book, Thorin calls Bilbo a child of the kindly west, but this fan changed it to make it more personal.
