The swords on Game of Thrones always made for cool collectibles. Longclaw, Needle, Oathkeeper…everyone had their blade, and companies like Jalic Blades capitalized on it by creating replicas fans could buy for their own personal use.

With HBO’s Game of Thrones prequel show House of the Dragon coming out in just a couple months, those halcyon days are here again. George R.R. Martin himself wrote about a new replica coming from Jalic Blades, who’s worked with the author for years creating replica blades based on his Song of Ice and Fire novels. The newest replica blade now available for preorder is Blackfyre, sword of kings.

Blackfyre is a Valyrian steel sword that was wielded by Aegon the Conqueror when he took over Westeros alongside his sisters some 300 years before the start of Game of Thrones. It was then passed down to Aegon’s successors on the Iron Throne. It will show up in House of the Dragon, where it’s eventually wielded by Aegon II Targaryen, one of multiple claimants to the Iron Throne. Having a legendary blade like Blackfyre helps convince people of his legitimacy.

The Valyrian steel blade Blackfyre will feature in HBO’s Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon

As for the replica, it comes in two flavors: normal — that one goes for $300 — and Damascus steel, which is a complicated smithing process on which George R.R. Martin based Valyrian steel. That one will run you $750.

It’s not cheap in either case, but if you’re the kind of fan who wants a replica of the sword of kings badly enough, you can’t help your nature.

If you so choose, you can preorder Blackfyre now. The replicas are estimated to ship in the fall.
