Over the last few years, we’ve seen a lot of awesome cameos in the Star Wars TV universe. There was Saturday Night Live’s Horatio Sanz as a bounty hunter, Jason Sudeikis and Adam Pally played Stormtroopers, and we can’t forget Danny Trejo as a Rancor keeper.

Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau, the creators of The Mandalorian and the guys who are basically the Star Wars TV Universe, spoke to Entertainment Weekly about a cameo they would love to see in one of their shows: Star Wars creator George Lucas.

Um, that would be amazing.

Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau want George Lucas in a Star Wars show

George Lucas made a cameo appearance in 2005’s Revenge of the Sith as the blue statesman Baron Papanoida. So he’s down for this kind of thing, right?

So is there a chance that the Baron could pop up in the next season of The Mandalorian? According to Filoni, “He’d have to be the son of Baron Papanoida or something like that. I don’t know. I wouldn’t even speculate on that.”

While this sounds amazing, we won’t get our hopes up too high. But I love that Filoni and Favreau have extended an open invitation.

According to Favreau, Lucas has visited the set of The Mandalorian before. “I love watching Dave  [Filoni] and George together,” Favreau said. “George, I have tremendous respect for. I’ve been very fortunate to have great conversations where I’ve learned a lot. But when I see Dave and George Lucas together, that’s like a whole [other thing].”

Two geniuses in one room: that sounds like a dream come true!

Hopefully, there is a future in which George Lucas decides to make a cameo once again. I think we would all love that, wouldn’t we?

Next. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will premiere in theaters. dark
