We have today, a demonstration on the instability of rumors. On the one hand, we have entertainment scoop account @MyTimeToShineH beginning a viral rumor that Kevin Feige, the CEO of Marvel Studios, is “thinking about leaving Marvel after [the planned 2027 movie Avengers: Secret Wars] and take over the Star Wars franchise.” That would be quite the move for the principal architect of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

And on the other, we have Feige himself, appearing at the red carpet premiere of The Marvels and talking with Entertainment Tonight about his own Star Wars movie, something we first learned he was working on years ago. In 2022, writer Michael Waldron said that work had begun “in earnest” on the project. But when ET asked Feige is his movie was “happening,” he responded simply: “No.” (His answer comes at the very end of the video below.)

If Feige is saying what he seems to be saying, his Star Wars movie would hardly be the first to get the plug pulled on it partway through development. Patty Jenkins was going to direct a Rogue Squadron movie. ShelvedThe Last Jedi director Rian Johnson was going to make a whole new trilogy. Missing in actionGame of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss were going to make a Star Wars trilogy. Kaput. We may have to add Feige’s movie to the pile.

Title for Daisy Ridley’s Rey sequel movie revealed?

Ever since the release of The Rise of Skywalker in 2019, it’s been hard to get a handle on what Lucasfilm has planned for Star Wars, at least on the big screen. But the rumors keep coming. One of the latest comes from @StarCouncils, who claims to know the working title of an upcoming Star Wars movie that will feature the return of Daisy Ridley as Rey: Star Wars: A New Beginning.

Disney has officially announced that it’s working on a Rey sequel movie, with Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy set to direct. But this is the first we’re hearing or a title, working or otherwise. Honestly, talking about the title seems a little premature. At this point, I don’t think I’ll believe that any Star Wars movie is actually making it to the screen until I see a trailer.

Next. Is Marvel bringing back the original Avengers? “We’ll have to see”. dark
