There are no more new episodes of Invincible in 2023
By Dan Selcke
The second season ofĀ Invincible, Amazonās excellent animated superhero show, started airing back in October. Now, just four short weeks later, itās taking a break.
What happened? Is season 2 finished after just four episodes? Did the show get cancelled? Happily, no.Ā InvincibleĀ season 2 will return with four more episodes, but not until sometime in 2024.
Just like season 1, season 2 ofĀ InvincibleĀ will have eight episodes when all is said and done. But season 1 just aired all eight episodes in a row. Why is season 2 breaking them up like this? We donāt have a firm answer, but it may have something to do with Amazon wanting to stretch out content given the delays it incurred as a consequence of the Hollywood writers and actors strikes, which have both now been resolved. Either way, the important thing to take away is thatĀ InvincibleĀ season 2 will continue, just not this year.
There are no more new episodes of Invincible this year
Unfortunately, we donāt have a firm release date for whenĀ InvincibleĀ season 2 will come back. Hopefully, itāll be pretty early on in 2024.
Itās annoying to have to wait, especially since the last episode of season 2 ended on such a juicy cliffhanger, but creator Robert Kirkman is trying to keep wait times to a minimum going forward.Ā āI think that that would be the goal,ā he said recently. āIāve said publicly, the gap between Season 1 and Season 2 are the longest gap weāll ever have. Iāve seen people say, āoh, itās gonna be three years for every season. This isnāt gonna work.ā But we donāt know, itās a very hard production schedule, itās a very tough show to produce. So, the goal is to try and get it as close to a season a year as we possibly can. I canāt guarantee that weāll hit that.ā
So sit tight, enjoy the holidays, and before you know it, weāll be back mixing it up with Mark, Omni-Man, Atom Eve and all the rest.
