The latest Game of Thrones spinoff has arrived, but fans are still waiting for some familiar faces to return to the franchise. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is the latest Game of Thrones adventure, introducing the new character of Ser Duncan the Tall. While there are even more spinoffs on the way, there is no sign of any characters from the original series getting their own show.
While Jon Snow nearly led a spinoff, it was ultimately scrapped, leading to shows focused on new characters and different eras of Westeros. However, looking at the characters who survived Game of Thrones, a number of them would be perfect protagonists for a new story.

Arya Stark
The ending of Game of Thrones remains controversial, but many fans agreed that Arya Stark was given the perfect setup for a spinoff story. The series finale saw Arya leaving her family and Westeros behind in order to sail "west of Westeros" to explore the undiscovered lands beyond.
The premise perfectly sets the stage for a new adventure that would expand the universe, allow the original's ending to remain intact, and feature one of the most popular characters in the lead role. While HBO had long denied that such a spinoff was in the works, it has recently been rumored that Jon Snow's spinoff could be reworked to include Arya.

Grey Worm
Grey Worm is another character who leaves Westeros at the end of the original series, but hints at new adventures to come. The leader of the Unsullied was in a bad place following the death of his love, Missandei, as well as his queen, Daenerys. Taking his fellow free warriors, he planned to travel to Naath, where Missandei was born.
A lot of fans felt that the final season betrayed the kind of character Grey Worm had grown into, turning this heroic soldier into a bitter and cold-blooded killer. A spinoff could work as a redemption story for Grey Worm, seeing him deal with his loss by serving as a protector for the people of Naath.

Daario Naharis
Several characters on Game of Thrones seemed to simply disappear from the story over time, but Daario Naharis was one many fans expected to return. Daario was a sellsword who gradually became one of Daenerys' most trusted allies, warriors, and even her lover. However, she left him in Meereen when she set sail for Westeros.
While Daario was meant to remain in Meereen to enforce the peace Daenerys established, he would likely have little interest in such a role, especially after learning of her death. A new adventure following his return to a life as a sellsword could be a similar type of show as A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, albeit with a more confident and roguish hero.

Gendry
A lot of the surviving characters in Game of Thrones ended up in very different places than where they started. However, perhaps no one made as big a leap as Gendry did. He was introduced in the show as a lowly blacksmith's apprentice living in Flea Bottom who was discovered to be the bastard son of King Robert Baratheon.
In the final season, Gendry is legitimized as a true Baratheon, and being the oldest remaining member of that family, he suddenly becomes lord of one of the Great Houses of Westeros. It would be fascinating to see how a character like Gendry deals with such a shift in his life, showing the ups and downs of this underdog story.

Drogon
One of the biggest unanswered questions left by the ending of Game of Thrones is the fate of Drogon. He is last seen carrying Daenerys' dead body away, and it is later mentioned that he may have been spotted near Volantis. However, a story based around the last dragon would be thrilling.
Dragons have been a massive part of the franchise, and Drogon stands out as the most interesting of these powerful beasts. He is loyal but also independent, and while the show would obviously need some human characters, seeing the new life he discovers after Daenerys is could be really interesting.
