Aaron Paul, Simu Liu, and others join the cast of Invincible season 3

Between Steven Yuen, Sandra Oh, J.K. Simmons, Walton Goggins, Seth Rogen, and these newcomers, Invincible might have the most impressive cast of any show anywhere?

The third season of Invincible premieres in just a couple weeks! Prime Video has thus far done a fantastic job adapting Robert Kirkman's vibrant superhero comic for the small screen. Part of that success can be chocked up to the incredible voice cast. Oscar nominee Steven Yuen plays Mark Grayson, aka Invincible, a teenager who's starting out into the exciting, violent world of superheroism. His father Omni-Man, the breakout character of the show, is played by gravel-voiced icon J. K. Simmons, and his mother Debbie by Emmy winner Sandra Oh. Other notable voices include Mark Hamill, Seth Rogen, Zachary Quinto, Walton Goggins, Zazie Beetz, Clancy Brown, Nicole Byer, Jason Mantzoukas, Jonathan Groff, Ben Schwartz, Sterling K. Brown and Family Matters' own Reginald VelJohnson.

It's an incredibly impressive cast for what at first glance might look like an updated version of the kinds of Saturday morning cartoons kids watched back in the day. And yet more big names are coming on board for season 3. Get a load of the newcomers:

Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul is Powerplex, "[a] new villain with an emotional past." Variety has these helpful character descriptions on hand. "Powerplex absorbs energy – letting him use an enemy’s strength against them. And that enemy is Invincible."

House of Cards' Kata Mara is Becky DuVall, the wife of Scott DuVall, aka Powerplex. "With a deep hatred for Invincible, Becky works with Powerplex to deliver justice she believes was denied." In the comics, Powerplex hates Invincible because someone he loved was killed in the collateral damage when Invincible and Omni-Man fought at the end of the first season. Blaming Invincible for that seems to miss the forest for the trees, but you've got to put your grief somewhere.

Christian Convery plays Oliver, Mark's younger half-brother. He was a toddler the last time we saw him, "but when you’re half Viltrumite and half Thraxan, you grow up REAL fast."

Make way for more famous people! Simi Liu, Shang-Chi himself, is Multi-Paul, who has the same self-duplicating powers as his sister Dupli-Kate (Malese Jow), whom we've already met. Except while Dupli-Kate became a superhero, Multi-Paul went in the other direction. Maybe he's jealous that his sister has the better pun name.

Moving on, Xolo Maridueña (Cobra Kai, Blue Beetle) is playing the dual roles of Fightmaster and Dropkick: "Freedom-fighting twins from a troubled future, they’re willing to risk everything in a desperate quest to save their world."

Tzi Ma (The Farewell, Kung Fu) is Mr. Liu, the ruthless leader of an international crime syndicate called the Order. Veteran voice actor John DiMaggio, whom a generation of nerds will know as Bender from Futurama, will play another villain, the Elephant, although it doesn't sound like he's as big of a threat. "He wants the world to stop eating meat," reads his official description. "He probably wants other things too. It doesn’t matter as long as he’s taken seriously… By somebody. Please."

Finally, we have two famous actors playing mystery roles. Jonathan Banks is best known for playing Mike Ehrmantraut in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, while Doug Bradley has long played lead Cenobite Pinhead in the Hellraiser movies.

Who are Banks and Bradley playing? You'll have to tune into the Invincible season 3 premiere on Thursday, February 6 to find out. The first three episodes of the show will drop at once. After that, episodes will come out at a rate of one per week on Prime Video.
