The xenomorphs will soon be crashing to Earth, and now we know a few more people they may or may not be having for lunch. Later this year, FX will premiere Alien: Earth, its new television series from Fargo creator Noah Hawley. Set two years before the original Alien film, the series will explore how the massive corporations ruling Earth came to learn about the xenomorph.
Alien: Earth wrapped filming back in July 2024, but many of the details about the series have been kept under wraps. That's starting to change. Earlier this week, The Hollywood Reporter revealed 11n new cast members who will play guest starring roles in Alien: Earth. The new actors joining the series are Richa Moorjani (Fargo), Karen Aldridge (Severance, Fargo), Enzo Cilenti (Game of Thrones), Max Rinehart (Unforgotten), Amir Boutrous (The Crown), Victoria Masoma, Tom Moya, Andy Yu (Fargo), Michael Smiley (Bad Sisters), Jamie Bisping (The Rings of Power) and Tanapol Chuksrida.
And now, we've got even more info to pore over: a brand new first look teaser which was revealed today by ComicBook.com. You can watch it above!
This two-minute-and-54 second sneak peek shows us around a space ship where several crew members are hanging out as it cruises through the void. We see it all from the perspective of a ginger cat, which is a fun nod to Ellen Ripley's cat Jonesy from the original movie. There are a lot of small Easter eggs to be found in this teaser. For example, many of the computer sounds and designs are straight out of the original Alien film, and it looks like there are some containment chambers with glass windows that would be the perfect size for facehuggers.
One of the few things we know for sure about Alien: Earth is that a ship will crash on Earth, and there will be xenomorphs on it. It seems a safe guess that this is that ship, before everything goes sideways.
Alien: Earth cast adds recognizable genre TV actors to its cast
Now let's talk about the new castings. Obviously, the actors who stand out most to me from the list above are the ones I recognize from big genre shows. Enzo Cilenti appeared in Game of Thrones seasons 5 and 6 as the slavemaster Yezzan zo Qaggaz. He's the one leader of Slaver's Bay that Tyrion Lannister left alive after Daenerys burned the blockade outside of Meereen.
As for Karen Aldridge, she's a familiar face from the telly right at this very moment. She plays Reghabi, the former Lumon employee who is helping Mark get to the bottom of the company's secrets. She's been doing an amazing job on Severance, so there's no doubt she could bring a lot to Alien: Earth. And we don't even need to speculate about where we'll see her in the series, because she's one of the actors who appears prominently in the first-look footage on board that ill-fated star cruiser.

The other fantasy show that pops out to me from that list is The Rings of Power, Amazon's stupendously expensive Lord of the Rings prequel series. Jamie Bisping appeared briefly in that show's second season premiere as Calenwë, an Elven soldier who Gil-Galad tasks with carrying a message to Celebrimbor.
Beyond the new actors, Alien: Earth stars Sydney Chandler as a young woman who joins with a group of soldiers who, presumably, will find a ship that's crashed to Earth which contains one of the iconic xenomorphs. The rest of the cast includes Alex Lawther, Timothy Olyphant, Essie Davis, Samuel Blenkin, Babou Ceesay, David Rysdahl, Adrian Edmondson, Adarsh Gourav, Jonathan Ajayi, Erana James, Lily Newmark, Diem Camille and Moe Bar-El.
New footage from Alien: Earth is breaching containment
The main things we know about Alien: Earth are that it takes place on Earth, where a xenomorph will get out following a ship crash landing on the planet; and that it is set two years before Alien, when, according to its logline, “five corporations — Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic and Threshold — wield the power of nations, and proprietary advancements in technology provide the promise of a new tomorrow.”
Beyond the first look footage that dropped today, the studio also unveiled a new sizzle reel this week which has footage of all its big shows coming out in 2025. That includes more footage from Alien: Earth, which gives us a look at Timothy Olyphant's character. YouTube channel One Media collected that sizzle reel along with the previous teaser; the Alien: Earth part of it starts around the 0:40 second mark:
Beyond Olyphant, the other notable thing about that sizzle reel is that we actually see the xenomorph for the first time! Every iteration of the Alien franchise has a slightly different design for its creatures, so I'm very curious to see what it looks like in the new television series.
I'm sensing that the hype train is about to really start rolling for Alien: Earth. And that's fine by me; I've been nervous about the series, but Noah Hawley has a great track record with Fargo and everything we've seen so far looks and sounds promising.
Alien: Earth premieres this summer on Hulu and FX.
