In the latest episode of Severance, "Trojan's Horse," the Innies dealt with the aftermath of their field trip outside the office in "Woe's Hollow," which ended with Irving B. (John Turturro) being fired from the company, never to return. So far as Dylan G. (Zach Cherry) is concerned, that basically means that Iriving B. is dead, even if Irving's Outie is still out there. Dylan demands a funeral, which floor manager Mr. Milchick (Tramell Tillman) gives him.
The funeral is weird and funny in that familiar Severance way. Mr. Milchick wheels in a watermelon that's been carved to look like Irving's head, which should tell you all you need to know. Anyway, after the funeral is over, Dylan hangs around a little, and finds something unexpected: searching behind a poster, he discovers a note. On one side of the paper is a drawing of the long dark hallway that Irving's Outie has been compulsively painting and drawing. On the other side is a set of directions. Here's what they say:
"From OAD, first turn right, all the way down the hall and turn right, turn right, turn left down a long hall and turn left, turn left, turn right, right, left, left, right, right, left, right, left, left, right, right, left, left down long hall and turn right, then left, right, turn right one more time and all the way down a long hallway..."
"OAD" is "Optics and Design," one of the departments on the severed floor. In the third episode of the new season, Irving learned from OAD employee Felicia (Claudia Robinson) that her department used to send shipments to that mysterious hallway. Irving probably got the directions from her and wrote them down. Now Dylan has them. Assuming he shares what he found with Mark (Adam Scott) and Helly (Britt Lower), the Innies are one step closer to finding out just what exactly is going on at Lumon.
Things are a little weird with Mark and Helly right now, so it's possible that Dylan keeps the information to himself. And he may not want to rock the boat too much, lest Mr. Milchick cut off the visits he's been having with his Outie family. We'll see how things shake out.
We're now halfway through the second season of Severance! New episodes drop Fridays on Apple TV+.
