With the new A Court of Thorns and Roses book coming out soon, expect new announcements in the next few months, including collaborations and more to celebrate this return to Prythian. However, we didn’t expect a celebrity voice role — this time from Maya Hawke.

It hasn’t been confirmed, but a rumor is circulating that the Stranger Things actress will voice Feyre, one of the main characters, in an upcoming ACOTAR book, whether it’s a full retelling or something special for Audible. This began when author Sarah J. Maas released a tease on her Instagram page of the voice acting for a Feyre quote in A Court of Splintered Harmony, without saying who was voicing her:

Eagle-eyed fans quickly pointed out that this voice belongs to Maya Hawke — and rumors began to spread on Reddit and across the internet that Hawke would be voicing Feyre. However, it’s been confirmed that the previous narrator for the audio series, Elizabeth Evans, will be back to narrate both this upcoming novel and the next, A Court of Forgotten Melody:

Fans in the comments were happy to see she was returning for these audiobooks, but how is Maya Hawke involved with all this?

How Maya Hawke could be involved in ACOTAR

What exactly does this mean? Well, we could have a Harry Potter situation here. Maybe because the ACOTAR books have gotten so big, we’ll get two releases this time around. The first is the obvious audiobook, releasing the same day as the new ACOTAR book — Oct. 27, 2026.

But there might be a chance we could get a full-cast audio version of this novel, as they’ve done with the Harry Potter audiobooks. Or this might hint at a dramatized version of the novels. That’s something that we’ve gotten in a few romantasy adaptations, like Fourth Wing. A dramatized version of the ACOTAR novels already exists, so it wouldn't be that shocking if this new novel were the same.

Or, more likely, Hawke might just be guest-voicing this specific line for the novel's promotional campaign. I wouldn't be shocked if that's the case. Hawke has expressed her interest in the world of Sarah J. Maas before, especially in an interview with The New Yorker where she spoke about her passion for the Throne of Glass books:

“A book that has changed my life in the last year is the entire 'Throne of Glass' series by Sarah J. Maas. I can't believe how good it is. It's my adult Harry Potter…I think about it every day. I think about it as like a mythic language for my life, and I’m so moved by it. I read all the books in the last seven months.”

Maybe Maas saw how much of a fan Hawke was and thought she’d be the best choice for this specific voiceover. Either way, it is a great pick.

That said, nothing has been confirmed yet by Sarah J. Maas, the publisher, or the typical audiobook producer, RB Media, nor GraphicAudio, which makes the dramatized versions. It’s all just theory right now about how involved Maya Hawke might be.

If they decided to go the full route of casting celebrities to voice the main characters, I can only imagine who they would pick. It would certainly become very popular. The Harry Potter full-cast Audible exclusives have been huge successes, and if one of the biggest romantasy novels goes that route, it would be a smash hit. Until then, all we can do is theorize.
