Just when we thought 2025 had already given us all the dragons, magic, and epic quests we could handle, the fantasy gods said, “Not so fast!” If you're anything like me, your watchlist is likely overflowing. But let’s be honest, there’s always room for a few more sword-wielding heroes, mythical creatures, and unforgettable adventures.
With the year drawing to a close, various streaming platforms are gearing up to release new seasons of some of their most beloved fantasy series. In fact, fans have been eagerly awaiting the return of three particular shows, and the anticipation is reaching a fever pitch.
If you're wondering what these three must-see series are, all you need to do is continue reading because we shared the titles as well as their official premiere dates below.
Note: One of the shows on this list does not have a premiere date just yet. However, it's been confirmed for a 2025 release.

Wednesday season 2
- Netflix premiere date: Aug. 6, 2025
- Cast: Jenna Ortega, Hunter Doohan, Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Moosa Mostafa, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Isaac Ordonez
Although the wait for Wednesday season 2 has been painfully long and really annoying, that doesn't mean tons of fans aren't going to be tuned in the moment it finally drops. Yes, I am one of those fans. It's been way too long since we've seen our favorite gothic teen with psychic abilities unraveling mysteries and serving up her signature deadpan wit. Fortunately, we don't have to wait much longer as the brand-new season premieres this August.
The first season saw the titular character transferring to the boarding school for outcasts and mythical beings, where she found herself trying to uncover a mystery involving her parents 25 years earlier. In Wednesday season 2, Wednesday is back at Nevermore Academy, where she faces new enemies and challenges. We'll also see her take on a new supernatural mystery!

Percy Jackson season 2
- Disney+ premiere date: Dec. 10, 2025
- Cast: Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, Aryan Simhadri, Charlie Bushnell, Dior Goodjohn, Daniel Diemer
Disney+ made the best decision ever when it decided to order a live-action series adaptation of Rick Riordan's best-selling Percy Jackson & the Olympians books. Fans had been asking for a faithful version of the beloved book series for years, and the show finally delivered. Due to the massive success of the first season, Disney+ went ahead and renewed the fantasy series for a second installment in February 2024. Now, we're about to finally see this new season in December.
Season 1 adapted the first book in the series, The Lightning Thief, and centered around twelve-year-old demigod Percy Jackson, who goes on an epic quest across the U.S. to recover Zeus’s stolen lightning bolt, clear his name, and prevent a war among the gods.
Percy Jackson season 2 picks up with the events of the second book, The Sea of Monsters. A year has passed since the events of season 1. Percy comes back to Camp Half-Blood and finds out that it's in serious danger. On top of that, Grover has gone missing. To save his friend and protect the only safe haven demigods have, Percy sets sail on a new quest into the Sea of Monsters.

The Witcher season 4
- Netflix release year: 2025
- Cast: Liam Hemsworth, Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan, Joey Batey, Laurence Fishburne
The time has finally come. For three seasons, Henry Cavill has played the gruff, silver-haired monster slayer Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher. But now, Cavill’s era as the White Wolf has come to an end, with season 3 marking his final outing. Liam Hemsworth has officially stepped into the role for the show's highly anticipated fourth season, and we can't wait to see what he brings to the iconic character.
A fifth and final season is also confirmed, but it's unknown when it will come out. An official release date for The Witcher season 4 has not been announced either, but Netflix shared earlier this year that it will be coming out sometime in 2025.
Here's what the fourth season is about via Netflix:
"After the shocking, Continent-altering events that close out Season 3, the new season follows Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri, who are separated and traversing the war-ravaged Continent and its many demons. If they can embrace and lead the groups of misfits they find themselves in, they have a chance of surviving the baptism of fire — and finding one another again."
