15 fantasy/sci-fi TV shows to catch up with in 2024 before the next season drops

Honorable Mention: Daredevil: Born Again

While it is not exactly a new season, Daredevil: Born Again will certainly be a re-imagination of the street-level superhero. From the 2003 movie starring Ben Affleck to the highly-acclaimed Netflix series, Daredevil has been through a series of ups and downs onscreen. Lawyer by day, the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen by night, the role of Matt Murdock will be played once again by Charlie Cox, who was retained by Marvel Studios after Netflix's Daredevil universe went kaput. He's already appeared in cameos in Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk. Vincent D’Onofrio will return as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin as well. 

While the show was initially scheduled to debut in 2024 on Disney+, behind-the-scenes retooling (as well as the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes) may have pushed the premiere date to 2025. Nevertheless, there is no harm in staying updated with the lore of Daredevil by watching the three seasons of the Netflix series, as it seems unlikely Marvel will bother to explain the superhero’s origin as much in detail all over again. He will appear in Marvel’s Echo as well, so you may want to catch up with that show when it drops on Disney+ on January 9.
