Sometimes this summer, we'll be watching our favorite dragon-riding incest enthusiasts fight each other for the Iron Throne in the second season of HBO's Game of Thrones prequel show House of the Dragon. We don't know exactly when new episodes are coming, but everything is coallesing around a summer release. Even cast members like Clinton Liberty (Addam of Hull) are saying as much on their Instagram pages. Mind the caption:

That said, the show still has some shooting left to do, or rather some reshooting. Reshooting is a very common practice that shows and movies deploy after official photography is done and producers have a chance to look at the footage; sometimes, they reconvene to pick up needed shots or expand on scenes. Reshoots on House of the Dragon season 2 began in February and will continue into March. That's a decently long time to spend doing reshoots, but nothing to get worried over. Remember that the second season of House of the Dragon shot through the writers strike of 2023, meaning that writers couldn't change dialogue on the fly. Some of these reshoots may be designed to account for things the team wasn't allowed to change in the moment.

In any case, fans have noticed cast members posting pictures of themselves back on set, mostly on their Instagram Stories, which self-destruct after a certain time. But fans took screenshots, so their on-set selfies are preserved.

First up, Bethany Antonia posted a picture of herself preparing to become Baela Targaryen, one of Daemon Targaryen's two daughters with Laena Velaryon. We didn't see a ton of Baela in the first season, but she'll be a big player going forward. She rides a dragon named Moondancer and is generally a little more assertive and aggressive than her sister Rhaena, played by Phoebe Campbell. "Aaaaaaa we're back," Antonia wrote, punctuated with a little dragon emoji.

Second, Max Wrottesley posted a picture of himself back on set to play Kingsguard knight Ser Lorent Marbrand; Wrottesley is wearing jeans, but we see Marbrand's boots in the background. By the end of the first season, Ser Lorent was one of the Kingsguard knights who found himself in service to Rhaenyra Targaryen on Dragonstone; other members of the Kingsguard still serve Rhaenyra's half-brother Aegon Targaryen back in King's Landing. Might Kingsguard fight Kingsgaurd in season 2?

In December, Wrottesley talked to Voice of Oldtown about his expanded role in House of the Dragon season 2. He praised the team for going above and beyond to make sure the show is spectacular, implied Ser Lorent will tangle with a dragon or two, and made a solumn vow to fans. “It’s gonna be big,” Wrottesley said. “You guys are gonna like it.”
