Jamie romances Claire in new photo from Outlander season 7B
By Dan Selcke
The first half of Outlander season 7 wrapped up on Starz over a year ago. The second half premieres in November. Fans might look at this and say something like, 'Stop telling me these are two halfs of one season. We had to wait over a year to get new episodes. These are two separate seasons you're calling part 1 and part 2 of one season to try and trick us. I see you! I see your lies!' And they'd be right. But at least new episodes are on the way.
Jamie and Clare Fraser, the couple separated by time by joined by love, have ever been at the center of Outlander. That'll continue when the show returns for new episodes later this year. “The passion hasn’t changed. It’s deeper and it’s developed,” actor Sam Heughan, who plays Jamie, told TV Insider during a set visit earlier this year. “It’s not that Fraser fire that we had in Season 1 because they’ve got older, they’re grandparents now. But Jamie says multiple times that he couldn’t live without her. And we’ve seen that. He’s the most codependent person we’ve ever met. They love each other, and their love has grown to such an extent that it’s grown a family and spans across continents.”
In celebration of this compelling codependence, TV Insider also released a new image from season 7B, with Jamie kissing Claire's hand in the sort of display of affection that Outlander fans eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner:
At this point, Heughan and actor Caitriona Balfe have been playing Jamie and Clare for 10 full years. After season 7B, an eighth and final season will wrap up the story. After that, it's time to say goodbye to Jamie and Claire, but Starz will keep the fandom alive with a new spinoff called Blood of My Blood, which will follow the lives of Jamie and Claire's parents years before the start of the original series.
As for the base show, Outlander season 7B premieres on Starz on November 22.
