Release schedule for all 8 episodes of Dead Boy Detectives
All eight episodes of Dead Boy Detectives, based on characters created by Nail Gaiman, land on Netflix on April 25.

Very soon, Netflix will drop the first season of Dead Boy Detectives, an adaptation of the DC comic of the same name. The show is about what it sounds like it's about: there's two guys — Charles Rowland and Edwin Paine — who run a detective agency investigating paranormal phenomena. They also happen to be dead, and outrunning the grim reaper is part of their daily routine. Such is (un)life.
These characters first appeared in a one-off issue of Neil Gaiman's comic book The Sandman before they started appearing elsewhere in DC Comics. And now, just like The Sandman before it, Dead Boy Detectives has become a Netflix show. We even know that Kirby Howell-Baptiste, who plays Dream's sister Death on The Sandman, will reprise her role for Dead Boy Detectives. Crossover!
That's despite the fact that neither Charles Rowland (Jayden Revri) and Edwin Paine (George Rexstrew) were introduced in the first season of The Sandman, but we suppose their show could catch us up on their backstories. In any case, all eight episodes of the first season of Dead Boy Detectives will drop on Netflix on Thursday, April 25. Here's the lineup:
- Dead Boy Detectives Episode 1: "Pilot"
- Dead Boy Detectives Episode 2: "The Case of the Dandelion Shrine"
- Dead Boy Detectives Episode 3: "The Case of the Devlin House"
- Dead Boy Detectives Episode 4: "The Case of the Lighthouse Leapers"
- Dead Boy Detectives Episode 5: "The Case of the Two Dead Dragons"
- Dead Boy Detectives Episode 6: "The Case of the Creeping Forest"
- Dead Boy Detectives Episode 7: "The Case of the Very Long Stairway"
- Dead Boy Detectives Episode 8: "The Case of the Hungry Snake"
Meanwhile, Netflix is also working on a second season of The Sandman, although we don't have a release date for that one quite yet. Sometime in 2025 seems likely. Hopefully Dead Boy Detectives can tide over Sandman fans until then.
