3 Body Problem is a new sci-fi series from Alexander Woo, David Benioff and Dan Weiss, the latter two of whom are best known for creating Game of Thrones for HBO. The show is based on the Remembrance of Earth's Past novel trilogy by Liu Cixin, about humanity's first contact with an extraterrestrial species. Are they friend or foe?
The new season will drop on Thursday, March 21. But when? If Netflix sticks to its usual schedule, here's when you'll be able to watch 3 Body Problem:
- PST: 12:00 midnight, Thursday, March 21
- MST: 1:00 a.m., Thursday, March 21
- CST: 2:00 a.m., Thursday, March 21
- EST: 3:00 a.m., Thursday, March 21
3 Body Problem stars several veterans of Game of Thrones, including John Bradley (Samwell Tarly), Liam Cunningham (Davos Seaworth) and Jonathan Pryce (the High Sparrow). The original book series is famous for diving deep into scientific concepts. Will the show be able to translate that to the screen? Will it compare in popularity to Game of Thrones? Will people even like it? Will David Benioff and Dan Weiss be rehabilitated in the eyes of the fans after the final season of Game of Thrones was largely panned?
All of these questions and more will be answered within the space of a week. See you on Thursday.
