When does the new season of Invincible come out?

The second season of Invincible, based on the superhero comic book by Robert Kirkman, started airing on Amazon Prime Video in November of 2023...and wrapped up that same month. Yes, fans only got to four new episodes of this violent, exciting series before they had to start waiting again.

Happily, the wait is almost over. New episodes of Invincible will start airing on Amazon on Thursday, March 7. Unfortunately, it's just another chunk of four, so we'll be waiting again before too long. And since these episodes will mark the end of season 2, not just the halfway point, we'll be waiting for longer.

If it helps, we've watched ahead a bit, and the four new episodes coming in March are blisteringly excellent. There's a reason the wait for new episodes of Invincible is agony. This show is very good.

Invincible season 2 second half release date

So we know when the second half of season 2 is coming out. The question now is: when is season 3 coming out?

We're not sure, but multiple people involved with the production have said it's already well underway. “Season 3 is very far along," Kirkman said in October of last year. He's excited for us to see some of the actors who will feature in season 3. “There’s so many in Season 3 that we have to talk about. If you think the cast expanded for Season 2, just wait until you hear about who we’re getting in the show in Season 3. That might give you an indication as to how far we’re going. There’s just so much big stuff planned.”

Meanwhile, in December, actor Jason Mantzoukas — who plays the irascible superhero Rex Splode — said he's already recorded his lines for season 3. “Ooh I can’t wait. ‘Cause I’ve already recorded season 3, and it’s bananas."

And they were saying these things in October and December of 2023. It's now March of 2024, so we assume that Invincible season 3 is even further along. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long after the conclusion of season 2 for more.
