We have the release date and pre-order information for another Fourth Wing book fans need to add to their Empyrean collection.
On Aug. 27, Rebecca Yarros revealed Fourth Wing, The Graphic Novel: Volume One is scheduled to be released on April 6, 2027. Yarros also shared pre-order information for the graphic novel, which has several different versions for fans to be excited about.
Fourth Wing, The Graphic Novel: Volume One is illustrated by Anabel Rossi and includes the first 22 chapters of the first book of The Empyrean series written by Yarros. The second half of the story will be brought to life in Fourth Wing, The Graphic Novel: Volume Two at a later date.
Now, this is the fun part! There are several versions of the graphic novel, so Fourth Wing fans can basically choose their own adventure. There are four retailer versions of Fourth Wing, The Graphic Novel: Volume One, along with an exclusive Deluxe Edition that's actually signed by the Mother of Dragons herself, Rebecca Yarros.
The Main Edition is available in three formats: hardcover, paperback, and e-book. The hardcover is available for pre-order at $36, while the paperback and e-book are available for $26 and $12.99, respectively.
The Signed Deluxe Edition, which is a hardback, is available for pre-order right now for $65 at Target and other retailers.
Then, we have the retailer-exclusive editions for Target, Walmart, Barnes & Noble, and Books A Million. Each of the exclusive editions features a different cover. For some reason, they are all different prices, too.
Based on my research, the Target exclusive is the lowest price at $25.20, while Books A Million and Walmart retail for $26. Barnes & Noble is the most expensive at $36. You can take a browse of the Fourth Wing Graphic Novel site to pick the versions you like best!
You have some time to pre-order, too! Remember, the graphic novel will not be released until April 6, 2027!
We're still waiting for the Empyrean books, including Fourth Wing Book 4 and Threshing Day
Hopefully, the Fourth Wing graphic novels are not the only Empyrean books released in 2027! Fans are, of course, hoping that Yarros will finish and publish Book 4 of The Empyrean series sometime in 2027.
We know we'll be waiting until at least quite a while into 2027 before Book 4 is ready. Yarros revealed that she was writing Book 4 earlier this year. Although Yarros is an absolute publishing machine when it comes to cranking out these books in relatively short windows, there's probably a good chance that we'll be waiting until 2028 for the book, which is totally fine by me. I'll just be happy to read Book 4 whenever Yarros is ready to release it to the world.
We'll share updates about Book 4 as they're revealed. If history is any indication, we could learn the title and potentially see the cover sometime later this year. We got the Onyx Storm title and cover reveal about 10 months before the book was released.
Before that, though, Yarros has a little Fourth Wing treat for fans! Threshing Day, the first Empyrean novella, will be released on Sept. 29, 2026.
The book will tell the stories of Threshing Day, the day the cadets bond with their dragons, for 13 characters from The Empyrean series. We don't know exactly what secrets will be revealed or which characters will have their Threshing Day stories told, but we're excited to find out!
