It might have been over six years since Game of Thrones aired its last episode on HBO, but the cast is continuing to make waves in the entertainment world by taking on exciting new roles and projects. One such project sees Game of Thrones alum Ben Crompton stepping into the director’s chair for Snow White: The Sacrifice, a daring ballet film that reimagines the classic fairytale.
Fans will recognize Crompton from previously starring as Eddison Tollett in the hit HBO fantasy series. He appeared in a total of 34 episodes of Game of Thrones, spanning seasons 2 through 8. According to Deadline, he helmed Snow White: The Sacrifice from a script written by T.S. Elliott Prize-winning poet Carol Anne Duffy. Sarah Parsh is the narrator, and Liv Lorent, Crompton’s wife, is overseeing the choreography. Lorent's dance company, BalletLorent, is signed on to produce. In addition, Murray Gold composed the score.

Snow White: The Sacrifice was reportedly shot in July, and it's described as a retelling of the fairytale but in a darker, more adult way. It basically takes the familiar story and gives it a gritty, modern twist that comments on today’s culture of looks and social image. Deadline also reports that the upcoming film includes contemporary British dance, poetry, and theater. It will be released on the Marquee TV streaming platform on Sept. 1.
"We’re thrilled to bring Snow White: The Sacrifice to Marquee TV’s global audience. This bold reimagining of a classic fairy tale exemplifies the kind of adventurous, genre-defying work that our viewers seek out-visually stunning, thematically rich, and unafraid to challenge expectations." - Cecilia Beacon, VP of Content & Engagement at Marquee TV
Besides Game of Thrones, Ben Crompton has appeared in several notable film and television projects, including Mike Leigh’s Peterloo and All or Nothing, the British sketch show Man Stroke Woman, and BBC Three sitcoms like Ideal and Pramface. Perhaps you might have even watched him in the romantic thriller Rebecca or the drama series Hit & Miss.
Some of his most recent roles were in the short-lived Netflix supernatural series Lockwood & Co., the comedy-drama show The Full Monty and the political thriller series Cobra. When it comes to films, the most recent movie he was in was the Christmas TV film Bad Tidings. Other than Snow White: The Sacrifice, it's unclear what projects he’ll take on next. However, we're excited to see his next move!
If you want to watch or rewatch Game of Thrones to see Crompton, you can do so through HBO Max. However, keep in mind that you'll need to be subscribed to the streaming service in order to gain access to the episodes.
