It's that time of the week again, where two guys named Dan stream a live podcast to talk about all the latest news from the realms of fantasy, sci-fi, movies books and TV. Yes, it's time for Take the Black!
We've got a lot to discuss this week and have a fun time doing it. James Cameron is adapting fantasy author Joe Abercombie's new book The Devils. The times have been a'changing, with The Wheel of Time cancelled and streamers ever more hesitant to take the leap on big-budget fantasy shows. What does this new partnership between Abercrombie and Cameron mean for the future of fantasy onscreen?
We talk through all that and more! Watch right here:
After our Cameron/Abercrombie discourse, we stop over in Westeros, where an enerprising Welshman snuck his way onto the House of the Dragon season 3 set to take pictures of a burned village the show has constructed for season 3. What charred remains could these be?
After that, we go through all the greatest hits from Netflix's Tudum celebration over the weekend, including new info on Stranger Things 5 and One Piece season 2. We talk about what we've watched lately, like the new Predator movie Predator: Killer of Killers, get into a few spirited conversations about AI and ads on streaming services, and more. And of course we round things out with the world-famous WiC New Lighting Round, where we spend 20 seconds apiece running through all the stories we didn't have time to get to in the main body of the show before Producer Richard buzzes us into infamy. As always, a good time was had; tune in and see for yourself, if you don't believe me!
