Welcome to the first episode of Take the Black of 2025. Round these parts we break down the latest and biggest pieces of news coming from the worlds sci-fi, fantasy, movies, TV and books and break it all down for you. Sometimes we have early reviews. This is one of those times. I've gotten to see the first couple episodes of Severance season 2 and I'm eager to tell you what I thought! Short version: the most mind-bending workplace dramedy is still in fighting shape. If only more people had Apple TV+ so they could watch it.
But before we get to that, we check in on Westeros. Are we finally going to get a good Game of Thrones video game? Are we surprised that House of the Dragon was the most pirated show of 2024? How did the Game of Thrones prequel show fare at the Golden Globes?
We dig into all that and more in the newest episode of Take the Black. Watch below!
We also take a close look at the new teaser trailer for the second season of The Last of Us, which is coming this April to HBO and Max. If people react to the second season of the show the way they did to the second video game in the original series, the internet will literally explode.
And of course, we share what we watched over the break, which means a somewhat timely mini-review of Nosferatu and a late-in-coming mini-review of Wicked. Finally, we take a run at the WiC News Lightning Round, where we give our 20-second takes on all the stories we couldn't get to in the main body of the show.
