The third season of The Wheel of Time, Prime Video's adaptation of Robert Jordan's epic fantasy series, is almost here. New episodes will drop in the wee hours of the morning on Thursdays. As is customary with Prime Video releases, the first three episodes of The Wheel of Time season 3 will drop all at once, with episodes dropping at a rate of one per week after that. Here's the complete schedule:
- Episode 301, "To Race the Shadow": March 13
- Episode 302, "A Question of Crimson": March 13
- Episode 303, "Seeds of Shadow": March 13
- Episode 304, "The Road to the Spear": March 20
- Episode 305, "Tel'aran'rhiod": March 27
- Episode 306: April 3
- Episode 307: April 10
- Episode 308: April 17
If you ask me, The Wheel of Time is a meaty enough show for Prime Video to release only one episode per week. With only eight episodes this season, the whole thing will be over in just over a month. I'd rather it last a little longer so people can savor it.
And these episodes look like they'll be worth savoring. When last we left our heroes, Rand al'Thor had declared himself the Dragon Reborn for all to see after the Battle of Falme (or at least, he was declared as such; whether he's happy about it is another story). News will soon spread that he has essentially named himself the messiah who will either destroy the world or save it fro the malevolent Dark One.
The upcoming season is based on The Shadow Rising, one of the best and most beloved books in The Wheel of Time saga. A lot of the characters go through big changes in this book, so we're expecting big things from the show. And what little we've gotten to see has been excellent. Strap in, everyone!
