Marilyn Thornhill meets with Dr. Fairburn

At the very end of episode 3, it's revealed that Marilyn Thornhill has transferred to Willow Hill. Now it's time for her to finally have a meeting with Dr. Fairburn. During this meeting, we find out the real reason Marilyn was brought to the asylum. Dr. Fairburn is still struggling to rehabilitate Tyler, and she thinks that by bringing Marilyn there, aka Tyler's master, it'll help unlock a breakthrough in his treatment.

She asks Marilyn for her assistance in the matter, but Marilyn has a request. She wants to be officially transferred to Willow Hill as a permanent resident and treated like a patient, not a prisoner. However, Dr. Fairburn refuses her request and tells her guard to send Marilyn back to her old facility. Marilyn starts panicking and yells out that she'll help, but on one condition. She wants to be able to see Tyler at least one time. This is something Dr. Fairburn is willing to allow.

But their reunion doesn't go well at all. Tyler is still angry at Marilyn for what she did and wants revenge. He transforms into his Hyde form and grabs Marilyn by the neck before throwing her against the wall.

Grandmama visits Wednesday

Wednesday visits a local cemetery in search of the ashes belonging to one of the deceased Outcasts whose obituary she discovered in Galpin’s cabin. After finding their urn, she turns around to see her grandmother, Hester Frump, standing before her. Wednesday calls her Grandmama. Wednesday then informs Grandmama of her investigation and her vision of Enid's impending death before opening the urn.

But instead of smelling human remains, it smells of other things. That's weird. Suddenly, a crow swoops in and steals her obituaries. Wednesday chases after the crow, but it gets away along with the hooded figure who's been following her and is believed to be an Avian. Before Wednesday leaves, she asks Grandmama to purchase the entire cemetery and find out who authorized the cremations of the deceased Outcasts. She then heads back to her dorm.

Since the urn didn't contain human ashes, Wednesday now knows that someone faked the Outcasts' deaths. But why and who? She knows all of her answers are in the Willow Hill asylum. She just needs someone to help her out. Who? Well, that would be a close family member.

Uncle Fester returns to help Wednesday

Wednesday knows exactly who to turn to for help with her investigation. That person is her Uncle Fester. She meets him at a secret location and explains that she needs his help getting into Willow Hill. Fester casually mentions that the last time he snuck into the facility was for Morticia, who asked him to check on her sister. Wednesday is stunned to learn that Aunt Ophelia was once a patient at Willow Hill and immediately presses him for more information. Fester tells her it happened many years ago, even before he himself had ever been committed.

Sensing someone else nearby, Fester activates his electricity powers and zaps a corner of the room, revealing a startled Agnes as she drops out of her invisibility. Wednesday quickly introduces the two before Agnes steps forward, holding the blueprints to Willow Hill. Wednesday then fills Fester in on the plan. She needs him to locate someone named Lois inside the asylum. Fester just needs to find a way to get committed. However, that doesn't take long.

Meanwhile, Wednesday meets with her mother and asks her why Aunt Ophelia was sent to Willow Hill. Morticia explains that it happened during Ophelia's sophomore year at Nevermore Academy. She was found screaming in the quad with black tears running down her face. She had pushed her psychic ability too far, and Grandmama had her sent away.

While Morticia is telling this story, Grandmama enters the room and shares with her that she bought a cemetery for Wednesday. Of course, this rubs Morticia the wrong way. As Wednesday is about to leave, Grandmama whispers in her ear the name of the person who signed the fake death certificates of the Outcasts. His name is Augustus Stonehurst.

Now, only Morticia and Grandmama remain in the room. After a heated argument, Grandmama offers to make a donation to Nevermore Academy on the condition that Morticia returns Goody’s book to Wednesday. But Morticia refuses. Instead of handing it over, she tosses the book into the fire.

Bianca's mom is taken in by police

To get himself committed to Willow Hill, Fester creates a scene at the local inn. While his plan works and draws the right attention, it also unintentionally exposes Bianca’s mom, who’s found hiding in one of the rooms. With no ID and no official record of her checking in, the authorities are forced to take her down to the station for questioning. She immediately starts texting Bianca to come get her, which is hard at first since Principal Dort has Bianca stuffing and sealing gala invitations. But with the help of Ajax, they manage to sneak out of the school and rescue her.

Ajax then leads them both to an old classroom, where he says that Bianca's mom can temporarily hide. However, they never actually make it to the classroom because Principal Dort almost catches them.

Who is Augustus Stonehurst?

Back at Nevermore Academy, Agnes informs Wednesday of the information she found on Augustus Stonehurst. He used to be the Normie head doctor at Willow Hill, and he taught science at Nevermore before that. Now, he resides in Willow Hill as a patient. He became a patient after having a psychotic break. With this new information, Wednesday tells Thing to relay a message to Fester who is currently in the asylum. The message is to track down Augustus, since he might be the key to finding Lois.

Fester eventually tracks down Augustus, but getting information from him proves difficult since he rarely speaks. However, Fester manages to pick up a clue from Augustus’s pet parrot, who repeatedly squawks a specific number. That number is "51971.” Fester discovers later that this number is the code to a room at Willow Hill.

Meanwhile, Wednesday uncovers more about Augustus during a conversation with Dr. Orloff at Nevermore Academy. She discovers that he has a daughter and that he constructed an aviary for her at the top of Iago Tower when she was younger. Uh oh! Could Augustus's daughter be the Avian who's been following Wednesday and murdering people in Jericho? Possibly!

Unfortunately, Fester is caught by Dr. Fairburn before he can unlock the room at Willow Hill using the code. That's all thanks to Marilyn, who turned him in. He’s quickly thrown into a cell, where he ends up sharing a space with Slurp. Thing returns to Wednesday with the bad news, forcing her to come up with a new plan to infiltrate the asylum. Luckily, Miss Capri is scheduled to lead a music therapy class at the hospital that evening, making her Wednesday’s ticket inside. Agnes and Enid are also in on the plan and ready to help.

Things get chaotic at Willow Hill

Wednesday's mission is to get inside Willow Hill, rescue Fester, and find Lois. She manages to make her way inside the hospital and save Fester. They then make their way to the mysterious room, hoping to find Lois. Meanwhile, Slurp has escaped from his cell. As guards escort Marilyn back to her cell, Slurp suddenly appears and starts attacking them. This gives Marilyn the opportunity to run away. With a zombie on the loose, an emergency alarm is pulled.

Wednesday looks around the mysterious room she and Fester have entered. They soon discover a hidden passageway leading down a flight of stairs. On the wall, the words “Long-term Outcast Integration Study” are written. It’s then that Wednesday comes to a startling realization. Lois was never a person, but a covert program all along.

Wednesday and Fester then venture down the stairs to find multiple cells, each filled with an Outcast who had an obituary. In that moment, Wednesday realizes that their deaths were faked so that they could be kept as living experiments. Suddenly, a crow flies by, and Wednesday and Fester turn around to see the same hooded figure that's been following Wednesday,

Judi is the Avian

As the hooded figure takes off their hood, the person is revealed to be Judi. Remember the receptionist at Willow Hill? Yes, it's her. She's the Avian and Augustus's daughter. She reveals that Dr. Fairburn is actually working for her. She hired her to serve as the face of the hospital and carry on her father’s legacy of experimenting on Outcasts. Judi was actually born a Normie until Augustus experimented on her and gave her the ability to control birds.

After deciding they've heard enough, Fester unleashes his electricity powers and blasts Judi. The surge knocks out all the power in the building, causing the gates to every cell to swing open. All of the outcasts start attacking Judi immediately, except for one. This one is quite different from the others, and Wednesday seems to have some sort of a connection with her. She even tries to help her get to safety. Could this mysterious Outcast be her Aunt Ophelia? Remember, Ophelia has long been presumed missing, and it was confirmed that she once stayed at Willow Hill. This means there's a strong possibility that it's her.

Could Marilyn Thornhill be dead?

It appears so. Amid the chaos at Willow Hill, with guards and patients scrambling in every direction, Marilyn manages to break free from her cuffs and rushes to release Tyler. But Tyler isn't exactly thrilled to see her. He's still furious. Marilyn insists that Wednesday is their enemy and that she’s somewhere in the building. But her words don’t sway him. Instead, Tyler coldly tells her that he'll deal with Wednesday right after he deals with her.

He then gives Marilyn a five-second start before he transforms into Hyde form and chases after her. He stabs her in the back with his sharp claws before throwing her against the wall. The last shot we see of Marilyn is her lying lifeless on the ground with her eyes open.

Elsewhere in the building, Slurp attacks Dr. Fairburn before eating her brain. He then does the same to Augustus. Meanwhile, Wednesday tries to get the Outcast woman to safety, but encounters Tyler in his Hyde form. As Tyler runs straight at them, Wednesday tells the woman to go. Tyler then sends Wednesday hurling out a window. Her body falls to the ground outside. She's not moving, and her face is all bloody.

The cops arrive and start shooting at Tyler. He jumps from a window to the ground and makes a run for it. The last scene of the episode zooms in on an unconscious Wednesday before quickly panning out. The end credits then start rolling.
